Mr and Mrs. Foster Merrill and daughter, Delores, of San Francisco, Francis-co, California, are enjoying an indefinite in-definite visit here with Mrs. Merrill's Mer-rill's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Will-iam Coates. Mrs. Men-ill formerly was Miss Melissa Coates. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bezzant of Ventura, California, are the guests of fronds in American Fork. The Bezzants were former well-known residents of our city. Mrs. Bezzant Bez-zant will leave the first of the week for Ventura,, and Mr. Bezzant will remain for about two months. Wednesday, June 2 1st, marked the official opening day of summer. sum-mer. Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Pratt and two children of xxs Angeles visited relatives here the forepart of the week. Mis. C. G. Johnson of Lindon has purchased the W. R. Beach home in the Second ward and has moved here with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jones left for 'their home in Salinas, California, Wednesday, after visiting here with Mrs. Jones relatives and with Mr. Jones' relatives in Lehi. Mrs. Jones was formerly Miss Ida Jones of this city, daughter of J. W. Jones. A well appointed luncheon, follow-cd follow-cd by bridge, were the diversions at the Cleofan club affair held at the residence of Mrs. M. L. Baird in American Pork Friday afternoon. Sweet peas prettily decorated the luncheon tables and rose cups were employed as favors. Mrs. G. R. Willett won the club prize and the guest favor went to Mrs. Bradshaw. The afternoon was enjoyed by Mrs. Arvel R. Morgan, Mi's. Leo Taylor, Mrs. Arnold Boshhard, Mrs. G. R. "Willett, Mrs. Ellis Peay, Mrs. David Goodman, Mrs. Dell Coleman and Mrs. Bradshaw, the latter two being be-ing guests. I Mr. and Ma William Firmage and daughter Agnes, were Provo visitors over the week-end at the home of their sen and daughter-in-law, Mr. j and Mrs. E. D. Firmage, where a family gathering was held in honor of their father's birthday and also Father's Day. The Boys 4-H Progressive club had an outing to Saratoga resort j last Friday evening. They were j acompanied by their leader, West Hammond. The boys played ball, swam and enjoyed refreshments. Everyone reports a good time. i Mrs. Jos. L. Dunkley, local president presi-dent of the Service Star Legion, and Mrs. A. W. Clyde, one of the "Star Points" of the local organization, attended at-tended a board meeting in Salt Lake last Saturday of the Utah-Idaho Service Ser-vice Star Legion organization. Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Mercer, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Wagstaff, Mrs. Heber Barratt and Miss Melba Barratt left early yesterday morning bound for Chicago and the marvels of the Century of Progress exposition. They expect to be away about three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith and three sons of San Diego arrived the first of the week for a visit with Mr. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Smith here. Mrs. Smith and children child-ren will visit here and with her parents par-ents in Provo until August. Mr. Smith left Thursday for San Diego. Mr. and Mrs. Harvel Bennett were given a pleasant "house warming" surprise last Wednesday night by a party of friends who came to see them in their new home in the First ward. They all attended the show first and then returned to the Bennett Ben-nett home where games were enjoyed and refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Sabey returned re-turned to their home in McGill, Nevada,' Sunday, after a month's visit here with Mrs. Sabey's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. 'Moral D.Steele and with Mr, Sabey's folks in Lehi. Dr. H. H. Ramsay of the Utah State Training School, will give the Social Service lesson in the Fourth ward Relief Society meeting noxt Tuesday afternoon. All members are urged to be in attendance. Kenneth Yancey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ab Yancey, is here on a thirty thir-ty day vacation. Mr. Yancey is in the service of Uncle Sam in the U. S. Navy, having! enlisted two years ago.
