Norrkoping, Sweden .Editor, Pleasant Grove Review Dear Editor: I am writing in the interest of thanking you for sending to me the Pleasant Grove Review, which has been a thing of interest and pleasure to me during my time - here in the mission field, also inasmuch' as my mission is nearing it close, I wish to take this opportunity of expressing express-ing myself. I have recently been transferred from my first field of labor namely Jonkoping, which lies at the extreme southern end of lake Vattern Sweden's second largest lake, and situated in the center of industrial Sweden. The city of Jonkoping is very strategically situated having both sea traffic and two railroads with other small commercial lines, including bus traffic lines, etc. and serving as it does as a hub for commerce com-merce from Stockholm on the north as well as other good sized manufacturing manu-facturing cities, such as Norrkoping (my present field of labor) Lindkop-ing, Lindkop-ing, Motala and others, also Gothen-borg, Gothen-borg, which is the District office for this the Gothenborg conference, on the south east and Kalmar on the east. Its position and commercial importance is reflected in the industries in-dustries located there, mainly of which is the Associated Swedish match industries largest single unit. Other goods manufactured are automobile auto-mobile motors, stoves, etc Jonkoping Jonkop-ing -is also surrounded by towns of manufacturing importance such as Husqvarua the stove and! bicycle manufacturing town of Sweden and Norrahaminar, another stove manufacturing manu-facturing city. These goods are all very widely used in all parts of the country, as you are probably aware. Sweden is not a large exporting country, and therefore these industries indus-tries are mostly of a secondary nature, na-ture, with the exception of its Trou, a raw product which is of course also exported extensively it being noted for its quality, and appearing in U. S. under trade marks Gi'lctte and others. |
