Fruit and Vegetables: Apples 2nd and 3rd prizes, Bill Lewis. Peaches 1st prize, Warnick Swenson. Swen-son. Turnips 1st prize, Rollo Black-hurst. Black-hurst. Oats 3rd prize, Edwin Oscarson. Barley 4th prize, Edwin Oscarson. Some of the boys winning minor points which helped to win the trophy were: Dewey Adams, Gene Fugah Darrel Walker, Orlis Steiner, Cyril Walker and Cyril Warnick. Principal A. P. Warnick and Ag. Teacher, Rulon Dixon, are to be congratulated con-gratulated on the splendid showing at the State Fair. For the past three years the Pleasant Grove- High School agricultural agricul-tural department has won trophy cups for the best high school agricultural agri-cultural exhibit at the State Fair. This year thirty-eight high schools were placed in competition with each other, all items in competion with its kind. More than 600 boys were competing. com-peting. The Ag Clubs of the high schools are nationally organized, our club known as the "Pleasant Grove Chapter of the Future Farmers of America." This chapter, winning the most points of any high school in the state, has been awarded the trophy cup. No doubt a representative of the Tribune staff will present this trophy to the school in the near future. Some of the prizes awarded our local hoys which helped to win the trophy were as follows: Orvel Anderson, Tugene West, Carl Millet, received second place in 25 high schools for poultry judging. Hogs Keith Warnick, two first prizes. Beef teers Kale Linebaugh, first and second prizes. Poultry Rhode Island Reds, Kale Linebaugh, 3 first prizes. Poultry White Leghorns, 1 pen old bens, first prize; 1 pen young hens, first prize. Kenneth Adams, first , Prize. Poultry Leghorns 2 pens. Best poultry display awarded to Pleasant Grove Future Farmers. Following boys won first prizes in sheep. Ramhouiletts, yearling .'rams 1st, 2d, 3rd and 4th prizes. Rambouiletts, ram lambs 1st and 2id prizes. Rambouilett Warnick Swenson, 3ra and 4th. Ram Iambs under 1 year old. Ewe lambs four prizes. |
