Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hall and family fam-ily suffered a severe loss Tuesday when their home was completely destroyed by fire. The fire apparently appar-ently was caused by a defective flu and was not noticed until it had gained considerable headway. The American Fork fire department depart-ment was called but was unable to put out the flames, as no water was available. Neighbors and others succeeded in saving most of the furniture and other articles in the building. The Hall family will occupy a portion por-tion of the Clive Draper home for a time. The sympathy of the entire community com-munity goes out to the family in their great loss. Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Nash and son Blaine of California, are guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Adamson and family for a few weeks. Another severe blizzard completely complete-ly blocked all side roads Saturday evening and Sunday, making it impossible im-possible for the Highland people to attend services here. Sunday afternoon the state highway high-way between American Fork and Alpine Al-pine was completely blocked in a number of places and cars were stalled along the highway. A number num-ber of travelers were forced to seek refuge in homes until the snowplows came to make the roads passable so they could resume their journey. Everyone is urged to remember the farewell party for LeGrande Adamson Adam-son Friday evening at 7:30 p. m. It would be a wise idea to bring the purses as they will be needed for a worthy cause. |
