Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mrs. G. W.. Larsen was a Salt Lake City visitor Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. William Evans of Salem spent. Friday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Tom-linson. Tom-linson. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Tomlinson and family visited Marie Tomlinson, a student at the U. S. A. C, at Logan Lo-gan Sunday. The Henson Walker family held their reunion in the Second ward Thursday evening, a large number being in attendance. On Wednesday, Wednes-day, thirty members of the family took part in a family temple excursion. excur-sion. A number of people from Salt Lake City, Murray and Provo, as well as other cities of the state, were in Pleasant Grove Wednesday to attend at-tend funeral services for Mrs. Anna Swenson. Ben Blanc and daughter, Mrs. Eva Christensen of Murray, of the immediate family, were among those from out-of-town. Anson B. Call, Washington county agricultural agent, called on Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick Sunday, on his way to Logan to attend the 4-H leaders training course. He took Eldredge Warnick's scrapbooks to exhibit at the course, the scrapbooks being Eldredge's complete record of four years in dairy club work. He also took Mrs. Warnick's club record book, which was a complete record of her club prepared for the social progress contest. Members of the Lady Faculty club and their partners making up a group comprised of the high school faculty and their partners held a party at the Riverside cafe on Thursday of last week. A chicken dinner was served, after which stunts by the men and competitive games were enjoyed. Mrs. Jack Rogers and Mrs. Karl Banks won the prizes. Visiting with Dr. and Mrs E. A. Pearson are Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Pearson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Margaret Pearson of Ogden. Dr. and Mrs. E. A. Pearson attended at-tended the performance of the grand opera, "II Trovatore," by San Carlo opera company at Salt Lake City last week-end. M. B. Nichols, western representative represen-tative of the National Holstein-Friesian Holstein-Friesian association, visited Saturday Satur-day and Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick. Mrs. Caroline McConkie of Vernal is a guest at the home of her brother broth-er and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. Sanford Walker. Mrs. McConkie came to attend the Walker family reunion Thursday night. The Lady Lions of Pleasant Grove held a meeting Thursday afternoon at the Un.h State Training School, as guests of Dr. H. H. Ramsay, superintendent. sup-erintendent. A feature of the meeting meet-ing was an illustrated lecture on mental health. Dinner was served at the dining hall. In honor of the birthday anniversary anni-versary of her husband, G. W. Larsen, Lar-sen, Mrs. Larsen entertained at a dinner on Wednesday of last week. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Orville Larsen and family of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence D. Olpin of Salt Lake City, and the Larsens. Calvin Swenson of Pleasant Grove, student at Brigham Young university, univer-sity, will be formally pledged into Delta Phi, national returned missionary mis-sionary fraternity, on Sunday, March 5. Mr. Swenson filled a mission in the Norwegian mission which made him eligible for membership in the fraternity. Its purpose is to foster spiritual activity, high ideals, fellowship fel-lowship and sociability. |
