Show High School News Last Wednesday and Thursday an exhibit of one hundred and fifty-Fine fifty-Fine Art Materpieces was held in the high school auditorium. The portraits were reproductions from the French, Italian, Flemish, Eng-! lish, Dutch, Spanish, German and' American schools- The following musical numbers accompanied ac-companied the displaying of the pictures pic-tures : "Budding Blossoms" by Gorter; "Simplicity" by Reynolds; "Age of Innocence" by Reynolds; "Oaks" by Wachtel; "Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata" by Balestreeri, and "The Angelus" by Millet. Cello solo, Miss Edith Clark, entitled "Spring Song"; Trio composed of Rose Adamson, Fern Robinson and Helen Ellison singing, "To a Wild Rose," reading, entitled "The Children's Play Hour" by Irene Giddings; violin solo, "Simple "Sim-ple Aveu" by Merma Grant; vocal solo, "Trees", by Helen -Ellison; violin duet, "Andante" by Helen Ellison El-lison and Merma Grant, and the String Ensemble playing "Angels Serenade." The accompanists were Helen ' Devey and Lydia Olsen. Miss Helen Green gave a brief sketch of the life of the artists who painted these pictures. The sophomore, Junior, and Senior Sen-ior classes have purchased the portrait, por-trait, "Moonlight on the Riveria" by Chabanian, from the exhibit. The Junior high school purchased the picture, "Where the Sun Goes," ! by Amick, from the exhibit. The basketball team was defeated ' in their game last Thursday by B-. B-. Y. High school. Their next game t will be played on their own floor, , with Lehi as the opponents. We ; hope to see them defeat Lehi as they did Pleasant Grove two weeks i j ago. |
