Show City Council Handles Business of Various Nature ties delinquent in their headgate accounts, ac-counts, who were notified to make settlement hy February 15, that legal action be taken against them. Relative to delinquent irrigation taxes, Councilman Lincbaugh made a motion which carried that the water-master water-master be instructed to mail notices, allowing parties until March 15, to make settlement. The Streets department was authorized author-ized to repair the cement sidewalk in front of the Eoren Meat Market City council convened in regular session February 16 at 7:30 p. m. with Mayor F. B. Newman in charge and all members present except Councilman Council-man Bezzant. Mayor Newman reported to the council that he had been advised by the city attorney, that parties delinquent de-linquent in their water taxes and headgate accounts should not be i allowed to transfer their water to tne 'incorporation until all assessments are fully paid. In view of the communication received re-ceived from Chairman Gillman of the Icounty commission informing the 'council that the budget for answering fire calls in the county, had been set jat $4000.00 for 1929, Councilman jMoore recommended that the council !accept their proportion of this amount, for that portion of the district dis-trict not incorporated to cities or towns. Relative to Lindon and Orem a charge of $25.00 and $35.00 respectively, respec-tively, be made for use of the equipment equip-ment plus expenses of firemen as follows: For Fire Chief $2.00 for first hour, and $1.00 per hour thereafter; for firemen $1.00 for first hour and 50 cents per hour thereafter. Councilman Council-man Llm made a motion which carried, car-ried, that the chairman of City Property Prop-erty be given power to make necessary neces-sary arrangements with towns concerned. con-cerned. A committee representing the Daughters of the Pioneers, met with the council, asking permission to erect a log cabin in Pioneer Grove, for the purpose of keeping many pioneer relics now in their poses-sion.. poses-sion.. A motion was made by Councilman Council-man Dickerson, which carried, that the matter be left with the City Property Prop-erty committee with power to act. The report presented by City Auli-tor Auli-tor J. A. West of the quarterly audit ending December 31 was accepted by 'motion made by Councilman Moore. Mr. Lim was instructed to measure from Clifton Harper's corner, south to Mrs. Loaders corner with a view to install 4 inch pipe in place of the 1 inch pipe which is there at the present pres-ent time. Mr. Lim was also Instruct-ed Instruct-ed to advertise for bids for trenching and refilling work to be done this Bpring. Chairman Moore of the City Property Prop-erty committee, reported a treasurer's receipt for $11.75 amount received from the Utah Power & Light Co., to re-etnburse city for expense incurred in staking property and preparing abstract ab-stract of title. Mr. Moore also reported re-ported that arrangements had been made with the merchants of the city to bear half the expense of five paper containers purchased for use on Main street.
