It is the Aladdin's lamp of motion pictures. Everytime the lamp is rubbed a new wonder springs forth to amaze the public. Warner Bros, discovered the lamp, arid they keep' it burnished with the various uses to which they put it. Its latest wonder "The Desert Song" is a complete operetta music, songs, dances, choruses and dialogue on the audible screen, with a big symphony orchestra playing the music. Warner Bros, selected "The Desert Song" as the first operetta to be given in its entirety on the audible screen because of its sensational success in New York, London, Chicago Chi-cago and Los Angeles. For a year and a half at (the Casino theatre, New York, it was Broadway's reigning musical success. London theatregoers flocked to it for more than a year. Chicago kept it for thirty-seven weeks. The public could not get enough of it. It was just the kind of a hit that Warner Bros, wan'ted for their first attempt to pro duce a screen operetta. "The Desert Song" will be presented pre-sented for the first time in Provo at the Provo Paramount Theatre, beginning be-ginning Saturday;, June 29, for a limited engagement. |
