Butte of the Fire Department was present and stated that the annual dues of (the firemen into the State Firemens' Association were now payable and asked the mind of the council regarding the payment of the same. Snyder appeared before the . council and presented a claim of $52 against the city for damages which he claims were caused by a collision of his auto with a truck driven by the city fireman, Glen Chadwick while responding to a fire call. He further claimed that the truck was recklessly operated and driven at a high rate of speed, and felt that under und-er the circumstances the city should reimburse him for the damage sustained. sus-tained. Complaints relative to the flooding flood-ing of Main street and: many other parts of the State road by irrigation water, was received from Suel Zimmerman, Zim-merman, employee of the State Road Commission. Root Beer stand, Mr. Zimmerman stated that the same would be changed in accordance with the request from Mr. Mitchell. A commiunication was received from the Utah county commission acknowledging ac-knowledging the letter of appreciation apprecia-tion from the city with reference to the assistance rendered by the county coun-ty in the road work done this year. A request for information relative to the city ordinance pertaining to the erection of Electrical signs was received irom tlie iNeon rrouueis Corporation of Utah. The recorder was instructed to forward this information. infor-mation. A communication was received from E"dward L. Burton and Co. stating stat-ing that they had $10,000 of American Ameri-can Fork City 5 per cent waterworks bonds which they would sell to the city for $10,075.00 plus the accured interest to date. Inasmuch as there was not sufficient money in the sinking sink-ing fund to make this purchase, the recorder was asked to notify the company that the city could not take up these bonds until their due date in 1931. The approved application, title No. 10552, for the appropriations of wal-er wal-er from the American Fork canyon stream was received from the State engineer. The same was accepted and ordered filed away. The reports of the city officers for the month of June were read and accepted, and the accompaning bills allowed. The recorder was authorized to issue a license to "the A. & W. Root Beer stand for ?5.00 for the present season. Numerous complaints were received re-ceived relative to the unsanitary condition con-dition of the Mutual Creamery Co.'s sewer line. After some discussion, the matter was referred to the City Board of Health with Instructions to take whatever action necessary to correct this condition. Councilman Steele reported that practically all tho plotted cemetery lots were now sold. The inatler of having the balance of the cemetery surveyed and replotted was referred j to the Cemetery committee with pow j er to act. The committee were again instructed to discontinue the care of all cemetery lots where 1029 dues v-ere still unpaid. The matter of the 4th of July celebration cele-bration was referred to the Recreation Recrea-tion committee and R-ecreational leader with power to act. A report of the special sanitary examination of the city water was received from the Utah State Board of Health Bhowing the water to be in satisfactory condition. |
