Show Job Service comes to American Fork, Thursdays at Senior Citizen Center Job service is providing employer and applicant service in American Fork on Thursday afternoons from 1-3:30 p.m. The office is located in the Senior Citizens Center at 50 East Main and is designed to better assist those living in the north part of the county. Job Service is encouraging employers em-ployers in the area to call in their job openings to 373-7500 and to then refer any persons seeking work to the American Fork office for pre-screening pre-screening before referral to jobs in the area. The services offered to employers by Job Service include pre-employment pre-employment screening, Targeted Jobs Tax Credit vouchering, labor market information, wage survey information, and area economic newsletters. Pre-employment testing is also a major employer service. Among the employers the Provo office has helped in the past are the American Fork Smiths Food King, American Stores in Payson, Albertsons in Provo, Food-4-less, Signetics Corporation, 7-11 Stores, Hardees in Orem, Stouffers, Geneva Steel of Utah and Price Savers. Job Service in Provo offers to job seeking applicants a fully-automated fully-automated job matching system. Completing a Job Service work application is all that is necessary-additional necessary-additional visits to the office are not required. The computerized system is designed to match applicant requirements with employer job requirements. When a match is made, the applicant is notified immediately. Since July 1, 1987, the Provo Job Service office has made over 38,000 applicant referrals to employers in Utah County. During this same period, employers have listed over 10,000 job openings with the Provo Job Service and 75 percent of those positions have been filled through Job Service referral. In addition to job referral services, other job applicant services are available, such as vocational guidance, vocational profiles, and resume assistance. At the present time Job Service in Utah County is also seeking applicants ap-plicants for Shopko, the new Smiths Food King in Provo, the new Hardees in American Fork and others. |
