However, they frequently wind up "spinning their wheels" while looking for choices that feel safer, have less risks and offer guarantees. The only way to avoid living your life from crisis to crisis is to learn to deal with your fear of failure, accept risk and accept the discomfort that comes with trying new things. It's necessary to decide which is more painful to you: to stay stuck in a situation which is difficult but familiar, or to fail at something you want to try. All too many stay stuck, acting as if failure is the end of the world and there is no room for starting over. This is far irom true. When we examine the lives of many suc-cessful people, we find that most started over several times, choosing to take risks rather than live with the desperation that comes from mediocrity. After Friday's contest, one of the Ute coaches tried to provoke an altercation with the Vikine team and the bus was egged as the Vikes were leaving town. The coach who tried to cause the trouble had been "red carded" during the match and was not supposed to be on the field. PG will travel to Carbon today to meet the Dinos, at defeated league leading last week. AlrnPvie, ( Friday, PG will host Snanic on the Viking field. Babe Ruth League plans registration, tryouts set Sign-up- s for the Babe Ruth League will be from May 11 through June 3 at the Community Center, 51 E. 200 South, from 1 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. The fpp will hp $35. Roys must be completing the Tenth or eleventh grade. The Babe Ruth League is highly competitive, with only one team representing Pleasant Grove. It is nprPSsarv to try out in order to make the team. Boys who plan on playing high school baseball during the 1989 season, will find the Babe Ruth League beneficial in developing their baseball skills. It appears at this time that the possible Region 8 Championship will come down to the contest between Pleasant Grove and Springville on May 10 at Viking field. This you won't want to miss. There is a lot of fun and ex-citement going on at Viking field so bring your Viking spirit and catch If you haven't visited Viking field and enjoyed a Viking baseball game yet this Spring you probably are not aware of what you have been missing. To start with, the Vikings are 5:1 in Region 8 play with their only loss coming from Spanish Fork which proved to be a pitching dual. The Vikings have been playing exciting baseball and each game provides great athletic plays, solid pitching, big hits, and excitement for the spectators. Which brings up the other aspect of attending Viking baseball games: Spectators. Baseball fans have certainly seen a new look at the games this year. Dell Young has been doing an outstanding job in calling the action and keeping everyone posted in the line up, scoring and inning run down. He also keeps the fans entertained with his natural and spontaneous sense of humor. There have been numerous baseball cards given away for correct answers to baseball trivia questions, lots of pizzas given away, and get this, over $150 worth of groceries from Norton's Food Store has been won. You can even get a good old hot dog, hamburger, or drink to eat while you enjoy the game. All this and more is going on right here at Viking field. You still have a chance to catch the action. The Vikings have four more Region 8 games before the State Tournament. Two of these will be at home. Pleasant Grove will host Timpview on May 6 at 3. This game was chosen as the Pleasant Grove Viking Booster attendance day. All Boosters are especially en-couraged to attend this game and bring your Viking spirit. All Boosters who do attend this Colt League to conclude registration, tryouts Sat. Pleasant Grove Parks and Recreation Department invites all young men, ages 15, 16 and 17 (as of July 31, 1988) to sign up for Colt League Baseball. Registration will be at the Community Center through May 6, from 1 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. All boys must register prior to being assigned to a team. The fees for the league will be $30 per boy. He must furnish his own uniform. Players must pay their fees at the Parks and Recreation Department. Coaches are not authorized to receive fees. Tryouts will be Saturday, May 7, at the high school baseball field at 10 a.m. For more information, call ik. Larsen and Cory Warburton qualified for state by placing 7th overall with a time of 3:49.32. Cook had a personal best in the open 1600 of 4:38.8. The PGHS boys medley relay team of Eric Cook, Ron Mayo, Bill Swim team receives awards at end of year banquet The Pleasant Grove High School swim team had their awards banquet at the Ponderosa Steak House recently.
