Show PGHS annual dance concert to feature tribute to the planets in color and light This Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16, at 8 p.m. is PGHS Annual Dance Concert. Price in advance is $2. Tickets at the door will be $2.50. This year is unique in that they are featuring a special work entitled en-titled "Galactic Suite," which is a compilation of dances, one for every plant. The dances depict a mythological connotation of each planet. For instance, Mars is the god of war and also a red planet. Hence, the dancers are dressed in red and they do a dance about war. Venus is light and love. Earth is life. Neptune is the sea. The costumes made by Debbie Phillips of Provo are totally unique and stylistic to the planet being portrayed. The program begins with a lively "swing" section from the 1930's and the 1950's and then evolves into beautiful slow ballads. Also featured is the PGHS Ballroom Team, who took first place at the BYU International Ball in April. Bring the family. All ages love these concerts. The music is exciting, ex-citing, the lighting is innovative, the price is right, the costumes are stunning. It promises to be a great evening. |
