Show Alpine Valley Care Center plans activities in honor of National Nursing Home Week The week of May 10-16 has been set aside as National Nursing Home Week. To celebrate the event this year Alpine Valley Care Center began the week by honoring the mothers at the Sunday Services. The Pleasant Grove 17th Ward presented the special program and gave each mother a flower remembrance. The Key Club of Pleasant Grove High School has been very supportive sup-portive and shared their time and talents with the residents this school year, and were guests on Tuesday, May 12 at 3:30 p.m. Thursday the senior citizens from the Pleasant Grove Center are invited to play bingo. This has become a tradition for National Nursing Home Week. It is a treat for our residents to have a larger group for their favorite game. Friday, May 15, the center is planning an alumni party. All those people who have recovered and returned to their homes are missed and are invited for an hour of visiting and a program from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Among the birthdays they are celebrating in May are Dulcie Francom's 102 birthday. Mrs. Francom is believed to be oldest living BYU graduate. The other May birthdays are Lucille Walker, Kenneth Bean, Aaron Walker, Cora Miller and Pearl Olsen. The facility has recently been purchased by National Heritage, the nursing home division of South Mark Corp. Laurene Dinehart will continue as the administrator, Debbie Brown is the director of nursing. |
