During Strawberry Days, there were 242 visitors who signed the register. Many also came and went without signing. On Pleasant Grove's birthday, there were 170 who signed, with many also visiting without signing. During the summer, there were many family groups who came as part of their reunion. There were scout troops who came to study for merit badges. During the school year there are many teachers who bring their classes to the museum to give them an accurate picture of pioneer life and early local history. These visitors have all been greeted and given stories and in formation by DUP ladies of the Battlecreek, Pleasant Grove and Manila Camps. A new addition to available tours was added this year by having the museum open on Thursday and Saturday afternoons. Guides were on hand to give tours on these days in addition to the tours made by reservation. This new feature will be more active another year as it becomes known that his service is available. The rennovation and beautifying of the building has brought many comments of appreciation. The building is one of the treasures of history in the entire state, being the oldest school building still standing in Utah. It also represents Pleasant Grove's pioneer heritage and the love the citizens have for this Heritage. . |
