Show 'Rockwell' begins this issue The story of Orrin Porter Rockwell, Rock-well, one of the most colorful ... characters in early Mormon history, is the subject of Lee Nelson's newest novel, "Rockwell," which begins on page 17 of this newspaper this week. "Rockwell," which is not yet available in book stores, takes the place of the "Storm Testament V," which was completed in last week's 6, edition. In his forward for his latest book, i Nelson explains his purpose : "This book is not an attempt at apology or dilution. Nor is it an attempt to heap more criticism on a man who has perhaps received i enough of that already. It is merely an attempt to bring Rockwell to life in an authentic historical setting, so i he can tell his own story, for better i or worse, through the eyes of this writer. "This is the story of a timid, religious farm boy from upstate New York who became the greatest gunfighter in the history of the American West." Installments of "Rockwell" will appear every week in this newspaper. |
