Show Rock's Records opens in American Fork where it is purchased, plus regular repair. Hours of the shop are Mondays from noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. ; Friday, noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Woodward said the record store has been open in Pleasant Grove since March of 1984, but decided to move to American Fork because of its central location in the north .end of Utah County. He invited area residents to drop in and get acquainted at his new location. i - Rock's Records is opening in American Fork today at 57 East Main. Owned by Rock Woodward, the store offers records and tapes including in-cluding the new laser compact discs. "We probably have the largest inventory of laser compact discs in Utah County with over 600 different titles," Woodward says. He explained the laser discs are a minature record that are played with a laser beam. They never wear out and everything is on one side of the disc. The sound, he says, is the closest thing to perfect you can get presently. They do have to be played on a compact disc player, which is now .becoming more popular. ; j? ' In addition to records and tapes, Rock's has blank cassette and video tapes, phonograph needles, and electrical accessories for audio and video' machines plus home and car stereo equipment at discount prices. "We sell all kinds of music and have a good selection of country western music," Woodward said. Because of the name "Rock's," many people feel the store carrys only rock music but that isn't the case. 'It's Rock's because that's my name," he said.
