Show Walter Brock retires from school district mhor nf the Alpine fHmst. seven years; member of the Alpine CreditUnion Education Comm. Ue for three years; Alpine School District Representative to the Utah A sodation of School Psychologists from 1975 to 1976; and was president of the Utah Association of School Psychologists in 1976-77. Waller married Bertha Elua Clarke, a teacher in the Alpine School District, on Nov. 22, 1950 m the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children, James Walter Brock of Suisun City, California and Jane Drew who died in infancy. Bertha died on Dec. 27, 1961. He married Donna Olpin Ash, a teacher and administrator in the Alpine School District, on Nov. 16, 1962. Her children, who she has shared with him, include, Dr. K. Owen Ash, Salt Lake City; Pauline Ash Muller, deceased; and Len Gene Ash of Orlando, Fla. Walt and Donna have 26 grandchildren grand-children and nine greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Walter has expressed his appreciation ap-preciation for the opportunity afforded af-forded him to serve the students, natrons and school personnel of the Walter Brock of Pleasant Grove has retired from the Alpine School District after 30 years of teaching and counseling. His retirement was effective Dec. 31. Waller obtained a B.S. degree from BYU in 1953 with a major in sociology and a minor in history. He taught 'sixth grade at Lindon, Central and Grovecrest Elementary Schools and at American Fork Junior High School for 14 years. While on sabbatical leave between 1467 and 1969, he obtained a master of education degree in school psychology at BYU and returned to the Alpine School District at the beginning of the 1969-70 school year. He has served as a school psychologist for the past 16 years Waller was the first fulltime school psychologist in the Alpine School District. His assignments have enabled him to serve students on all grade levels, pre-school through high school. He has served in the Alpine Education Association as building representalive at Grovecresl Elementary for two years; sixth oraHe rirnartmenl chairman for Walter Brock Alpine School District for the past) years. Now that he has some spare time Walter wants to do some genealogt work, temple work, write his lis story, do some gardening and somf work on the house. |
