J Vi,Jk Chartham Management has ap-pointed Richard Dunkley as the new administrator for Alpine Valley Care Center. Rich comes well prepared, as he has five years experience as an administrator and is a graduate of BYU with a masters degree in business administration. He and his wife are the parents of four children and live in Orem. Dunkley's hobbies include restoring old cars, but his eyes light up when he talks about the moun-tains and American Fork Canyon. He enjoys climbing, hunting and fishing. He has been involved in scouting for many years. Talking about the Alpine Valley Care Center, Dunkley said, "Our facility is small enough to have a home-lik- e atmosphere and yet our staff is prepared for every level of care." In the future, Dunkley said he would like to see the facility more involved in community, especially with family support groups. Mark Bybee, the previous ad-ministrator, has been transferred to Utah Valley Care Center in Provo, which Cartham has recently pur-chased. Richard Dunkley f , I imv ; tA h ?-r.-- h , . Community-wid- e Health Fair slated A community-wid- e Health Fair will be held Saturday, April 26, from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Tim-panog- Stake Center, 800 N. 100 West, Pleasant Grove. The event is sponsored by the Pleasant Grove and Timpanogos Stake Relief Societies but all residents of the community are invited to attend. The Health Fair is also part of a program endorsed by Chevron Corporation, KUTV 2, and the Utah Department of Health. The fair will include exhibits and demonstrations. Free health screenings for vision, height-weigh- t, blood pressure, and more will be offered and referral services will be provided. There will be optional 24 channel blood chemistry tests for $10 which screens for liver, kidney, diabetes, cholesterol, etc. This requires four hours of fasting prior to the test. Drinking of water is okay. In addition, for $15 there will be the 24 channel blood chemistry plus a cardiac profile. There is a 12 hour fast requirement here but water is allowed. If the testing results in any in-dications of unusual conditions you will be referred to your family physician or to another source for follow-up- . Multiple screening is neither in-tended to be nor is it a substitute for a physical examination by your doctor or health care provider and abnormal results are not positive evidence of disease. Gayle Judd, local chairman of the Health Fair, said that doctors are becoming convinced that many diseases can be prevented or their effects reduced in severity. Health habits have a great deal to do with whether we get these diseases and, if we do, their impact on our lives. Families are invited to attend the fair but only those 18 years of age and older may take advantage of the blood tests.
