Show State to help beautify underpass Through the volunteer efforts of Pleasant Grove resident, Becky;, Grass, the Utah Department of Transportation has agreed to help with the landscaping of the railroad underpass on State Road 89 in Pleasant Grove. Becky told the city this week that the state would pay for the capital improvement costs of the project and the city would be responsible for power, maintenance and labor costs. Becky is asking for donations to the project and she will need volunteer volun-teer labor. E. Mark Bezzant, a local landscape designer, will assist Becky with the project. The city has been eager to have work done on the underpass for a long time but did not have the financial finan-cial resources to complete the work. The help from the state will make it possible to clean up this eyesore in the community. More information will be coming forth as work begins on the project. Citizens are asked to help in any way that they can. Frank Mills, Public Works Director, said they would li'.r to have the project completed before Strawberry Days in mid-June. |
