"Sweet Heaven" is the theme of the 1986 Strawberry Days Pageant which will be held Saturday, March f 29, at 7 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove m High School audiioriumu ' .. ' Eleven local misses are vying for Jfthe title of Strawberry Days Queen and the opportunity to reign over the community's annual festival in June. She will also represent the city in other parades and events during the coming year. Contestants are Nicole Harmon, Tammy Jo Bird, Lisa Spivey, Lisa Hollis, Jackie Groo, Shellie Eggett, Melinda Pymm, Lori Meldrum, Loralee Mecham, Shari Dawn Card j and Tina Story. Tickets for the event will be available at the door or from any of f, the contestants or committee members. The cost is $3.50. Chairman of the pageant is ; Marlene Simmons with Linda Kelly, co-chairman; Karin' Smith, contestants; con-testants; Liz Curtis, special arrangements; Donna Ruf, judges; Bobbi Beagley, programs; Sandy Larson, tickets; and Linda Giles, publicity: ' : " : ' - 1 Karen Harmer, reigning Strawberry Days Queen, will be Mistress of Ceremonies for the pageant. She will also perform on the program. Karen will relinquish her crown to the new queen at the conclusion of the program. All of the contestants will participate par-ticipate in a production number to begin the pageant. The girls will perform their talent number and this will be followed by the evening gown competition. Strawberry Days Committee Chairman Harold Jacklin will give the welcome. The announcement of the new royalty will conclude the program. |
