Show Heather Johnson wins state Pepsi Hot Shot Tournament different points around the key. They must shoot from each spot at least one time, and if they shoot twice, they receive bonus points. Eric Jacklin also competed in the Salt Palace, and did quite well. He took first place in an earlier competition, com-petition, qualifying him to compete in the area shoot-out. Pleasant Grove Recreation would like to compliment all of the young people that competed at the city, state and area levels, for their fine shooting. It might be noted that several of the state and area scores were right on par with the scores in the Pleasant Grove City competition. Heather Johnson of Pleasant Grove won first place in the recent area Pepsi Hot Shot shoot-out at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake. She won with a high score of 114 points, beating out all of the other contestants con-testants in the 9-12-year-old bracket. Heather will compete in Kansas City, Mo., against other girls from all over the United States. She will represent the Utah Jazz and their Jr. Jazz program all over the state of Utah. Competitions are held all over the state, for girls and boys from 9 to 18 years of age. Two three-round competitions are held, with the young people shooting from several Heather Johnson |
