Show Ballet performs 'Coppelia' "Coppelia," a Bavarian love-triangle love-triangle romance of the 1800's, will be performed by the Utah Regional Ballet on Saturday, April 20, and Monday, April 22, in the Timpview High Auditorium. Under the leadership of Artistic Director, Jacqueline P. Colledge, the production brings together a number of prominent artists. Featured guest is Matthew Degnan of Ballet West, who will play the role of Frans. Alternating in the role of Swanilda are Melissa Pace, Corinne Adams and Laura Clarke of the Utah Regional Ballet. Dr. Coppelius will be interpreted by Glen Smith. Of special note is the live orchestral or-chestral accompaniment which will be provided by a professional symphony organized and conducted by Dr. Ralph Laycock of BYU notoriety. Some 50 professional musicians will bring the Ix-o Delibes score to life. In addition, the newly organized group will provide musical support for future URB performances of "Cinderella" and the "Nutcracker." Bill Kirkpatrick, who created the breath-taking imagery for the company's successful production of "Nutcracker" this past season, has created a new and colorful set for this upcoming production. Sarah Price, experienced wardrobe designer, is in charge of costume design and construction. "Our dancers, musicians, support staff and stage personnel are all working feveriously to make 'Coppelia' a memorable experience," ex-perience," concluded Colledge. "This will be a professional and heart-warming rendition of this classic ballet." All seats are reserved.
