Show Family honors Harold Nielsons on Golden Wedding Day 1 l, 'J 1 ' Mr. and Mrs. Harold W. Nielson ; celebrated their 50th wedding j. anniversary April 9 with a family j dinner held in their honor in Salt I Lake City. j Mr. Nielson was born in American Fork to Harry and Persha Nielson. Mrs. Nielson was born in Lehi to J.L. and Vernice Barnhardt. They were married April 9, 1935 in Lehi. Mr. Nielson worked in the mines in Mercur and was a construction worker. He was in the Army for two years, and served in Germany during World War II. He enjoys the outdoors and keeps active fishing, hunting and gardening. Mrs. Nielson worked at Grovecrest Elementary as a lunch worker. She also enjoys fishing, as well as handiwork and quilting. She has been active in the LDS Church, has served in the Relief Society presidency of her ward, and has been a visiting teacher for 45 years. The Nielsons have three sons and two daughters: Bud Nielson, Bill Nielson and Etta May Bowers, all of Pleasant Grove: and Dan Nielson Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nielson and Sharon Curtis, both of American Fork. They have 29 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. |
