Show Sewer infiltration costs city and on 600 West a few years ago. The council discussed possible solutions to the problem but made no formal decisions at this time. Mayor Holdaway told the council that the city is working with the state and making application for emergency flood disaster funds to assist with the high water problems in the Manila area. He said the city has received a letter from the governor which stated that he had read the request from the city and turned it over to the proper authorities. The council suggested that they make a personal visit to the governor and make a presentation based on the Utah County Health officials' recommendation and upon the on-the-spot observation of state officials. Community Development Director Fred Christensen is preparing the information for the presentation. Mayor David Holdaway told the Pleasant Grove City Council Tuesday that the city could cut the monthly sewer bill in half if it could stop the infiltration of ground water into the lines. The mayor noted that a study done by the Public Works Director showed that large amounts of water are seeping into the sewer lines at various locations. The most severe infiltration may be occuring near 600 West on Center Street in spite of new sewer line being placed in that area |
