Show ritizen, Press, Review, Wed., August 28, 1985 - Page 13 Shalana's Hair and Beauty Supply grand opening Aug. 30-3- 1 Shalana's Hair and Beauty Supply will open this weekend, with a grand opening planned for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30 and 31. Located at 590 East State Road in the front of the old Halstrom Motors Building, the new business will feature beauty aids of various types. Hours for the new operation will be Monday through Saturdays from 9a.m. to7p.m. Beauty supplies are being offered for both the public and to licensed cosmetologist, according to Shalana Robinson, owner. Included are such items as perms, shampoos, color, makeup, nails, and other items as well as product in-formation. Shalana has operated a beauty salon in American Fork in the past, . and is a native of the city. Fred T. Survivors include his wife of Salt Lake City; a daughter, Shauna Cardenas, Salt Lake City; a son, Martin T. Nielsen, Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters, Verna Stoddard, Salt Lake City; Ruth Read, American Fork; and Joan Thomas, Salt Lake City; and a brother, Richard Nielsen' Portland, Ore. Services were held Monday at the Ml. Olympus North Stake Center. Burial was in the American Fork Cemetery. grenda K. Mangum nrenda Karns 19 died in an Mangum,accident in Georgia on August 25. She was born July 30, 6 jn Colorado Colo., to Springs, Glenard LaMar and Marna Karns. She Barried Ron Mangum dl pleasant Grove on July 9, 1985 in the Provo LDS Temple. St,e attended Orem schools and was a graduate of Mountain View High School. f she was a member of the LDS Church and J K , i had been residing in the Orem 21st Ward prior to their move to Allenhurst, Ga. She is survived by her Ihusband, Ron, of I Allenhurst, Ga.; her 1 mother, Marva, of I Orem; brothers and I sisters: Brian, Becki, I Bradley and Burton, all j of Orem ; grandparents, Morgan and Margie I McNeil and Afton Karns, all of Orem. Her ! father preceded her in death. Funeral services will i be held Friday in the Orem 21st Ward, 50 S. 750 West. The time is pending. Watch newspaper listings for times. Craig Sharpe Carson Craig Sharpe Carson, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 1985, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born July 31, 1961, in American Fork lo Gary Lynn and Martha Jane Sharpe Carson. He married LoriLee Finch Nov. 11, 1983, in the Provo LDS Temple. He was educated in Pleasant Grove schools and attended Utah Technical College at He has ten working in the building and con-struction industry. He is a member of the LDS Church and served an LDS mission in Melbourne, Australia. Survivors include his wife and son, Casey, of Payson; parents, Pleasant Grove; grandparents, Elvin and Leatha Carson, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Lillie D. Sharpe, Melbrook, Alabama ; five brothers and two sister: G. Michael Carson, Provo; Mrs. Wayne (Christy) Gillies, Lindon; James Thomas Carson, Delta; Kenny Lynn Carson, Kevin Carson, Sherry Jane Carson and Terry Carson, all of Pleasant Grove. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in the West Mountain Ward Chapel, 2 miles west of Payson on Utah Avenue. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery. Boyd Anderson to help Jerry's Kids The Muscular Dystrophy Association has announced that Boyd Anderson will be the Utah taty Pledge Center Coordinator k the Jerry LewisvLabor Day Telethon. The Pledge Center will be located at ERA Mountainland in Pleasant Grove. Boyd and other volunteers in the area will be helping to raise money for the benefit of the Utah County patients with muscular dystrophy. Arby's Roast Beef holds grand opening Arby's, 450 East State Road, of-ficially opened Friday (Aug. ?3) with ribbon cutting ceremonies, officials and the letting go of a helium filled balloon bouquet. Wendell Terry, a longtime resident of American Fork, is manager of the new fast-foo- d facility. The restaurant offers a variety of beef sandwiches as well as a breakfast menu. The building has Arby's latest interior decor package, while the exterior features a curved glass enclosed greenhouse dining area. There is a drive-throug- h window service for those who don't wish to leave their car. American Fork Mayor Malcolm H. Beck presented Mr. Terry with the American Fork Chamber of Commerce "First Dollar of Profit" plaque as he welcomed the business to the community. The firm is one of the newest members of the C of C, according to Chamber officials present for the grand opening ceremony. Alpine Foods, a local company, is owner and operator of the new business.
