Joan Lewis wins awards in Steel Days flower show Lisa Larsen of American Fork received the "Best Use of Theme" award for her "Freedom's Choice Elections 1984" display in the American Fork Steel Days Flower Show held recently. Miss Larsen also received an award for creativity, according to flower show officials. To show winning runs in her family, her mother, father, two sisters and her grandmother also received awards or ribbons at the show. . Her mother, Donna, received an Award of Distinction for artistic arrangement, with her father, Douglas, sisters Stacey and Crystal, and grandmother, Mildred Dean, receiving ribbons for their entries. Other top awards given by judges at the show included awards in the Artistic Division to Joan Lewis, Pleasant Grove (Tri-Color Award for table arrangement); Debbie Ragan, American Fork (Tri-Color (Tri-Color for artistic arrangement); and Tommy Lewis, American Fork, Junior Winner. Mrs. Ragan and Mrs. Lewis also received Education Awards for arrangements. In the Horticulture Division, Fay J. Llewellyn, Springville, received two Best of Section awards and a "Best of Show" award; and June Chadwick, American Fork, received a Best of Section award. Debbie Ragan, chairman of the annual event along with Mrs. Lewis, said 90 awards were given, including 36 blue ribbons. |
