Show Home occupation mulled by council A home occupation on the Arden Kitchen Estate on 500 N. and Sage Drive was deliberated by the City Council Tuesday night. Perry Enterprises has proposed to buy the home and the Perry family will live there. Catalog sales of the cassette tapes and music developed by the firm will be prepared and mailed from the home under the proposal. The city building inspector at first could see nothing wrong with the proposal and was ready to recommend it to the council when he learned that about five employees em-ployees would be involved in the home occupation. The ordinance stipulates that no employees are allowed. Councilman David Dickerson pointed out that other home occupations oc-cupations such as pre-schools hire employees all the time and nothing has been done to curtail this. The Planning Commission will ask for an opinion from the City Attorney as to whether the Perry's could go into business under the present ordinance or whether a change would have to be made. It was noted that the neighbors have not objected to the home occupation oc-cupation and there is plenty of parking available for the five employees and it would not disturb the neighbors. |
