Show (obituaries) Dee Moosman Dee Sheridan Moosman, 57, of Pleasant Grove, died Saturday, March 31, 1984 at his home. He was born May 22, 1926 in Boulder, a son of Lester and Gertrude Ormond Moosman. He married Violet Porter on Feb. 25, 1948 in Fredonia, Ariz. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended schools in Boulder and Escalante and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Fourth LDS Ward. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Geneva Steel for 27 years before his retirement. Surviving are his wife of Pleasant Grove; six sons, Brent Moosman of Salt Lake City; Sheridan Moosman Moos-man of Houston, Texas; Stewart Moosman Moos-man of Starks, La.; Calvin Earl Heiselt J, 3 James Edwards-James Edwards-James Ernest Edwards, 71, died Saturday, March 31, 1984 at his home in Lehi of heart failure. He was born Dec. 20, 1913 in Iehi, a son of Charles Cooper and Mary Ellen Sorensen Edwards. He married Viola M. Moser Feb. 27, 1936 in I.ehi. He graduated from Lehi High School and later attended Brigham Young University. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad, starting as a track laborer in 1934 and worked up to system engineer, then worked for Utah Railroad as a locomotive engineer and fireman. He ing to Lehi. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Lattery-day Saints. Survivors include his wife of Iehi, two daughters, Charlene M. Edwards of Salt kike City, Mrs. Phil (1 jnda) Oyler of Orem, two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Alma Edwards of Magna, Herbert, Carl and Robert Edwards, all of Ijehi, Velma Lunsford of Salt Lake City and Millie Edwards of California. Services were held Tuesday in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi. Burial was in Lehi Cemetery. Calvin Earl Heiselt, age 66, died March 31, 1984 in a care center in Ely, Nevada. He was born Nov. 1, 1917 in Bags, Wyo. to Wallace Earl and Nadine Wilson Heiselt. He attended school in American Fork and was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was a cattle rancher in both Wyoming and Nevada. He is survived by one brother and two sisters: Wilson Heiselt, Lehi; Mrs. Clyde (Rhea) Green, Hayward, California; and Mrs. James (Winnie) Barton, Bar-ton, Stockton, California. Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 4, 1984, at 11 a.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary, Mor-tuary, Lehi, at 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. He retired in 1980. He also lived in Milford, Draper and Martin before return- Milton Le Roy Deford Mabel Elma Aljets Sexsmith Lehi-Milton LeRoy DeFord, 78, died April 2, 1984, in Lehi. He was born Oct. 24, in 1905 in Bingham to Arthur Guy and Julia Teresa Gregerson DeFord. He married Jenna Vee Roberts on April 10, 1929 in Salt Lake City. He was retired from Kennecott Copper and enoyed gardening. He is survived by his wife of Lehi; daughter, Mrs. Bob (Donna Vae) Brown, Salt Lake City; Florence Downs- three grandchildren, five great grandchildren grand-children and a sister, Guydine Bordley, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, at 12 noon in the Wing Mortuary Chapel where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday prior to the service. Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City. the "Meritorious Service" category. She had served for 23 years as a director in the Bowling Association Associa-tion and had been elected delegate to the National Women's Bowling Convention for 12 years. She is survived by her three daughters, Mrs. William (Barbara) Taylor, Kihei, Hawaii; Mrs. David (Donna) Folkman and Mrs. Sam (Jean) Taylor, both of Highland, Utah; 15 grandchildren; grand-children; 9 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Maxine) Ruggeroli, Las Vegas, Nevada; and Mrs. Charles (Anna Mae) Smith, Ely, Nevada. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3, 1984, at Anderson & Sons Mortuary. Burial was in Tooele City Cemetery. Mabel Elma Aljets Sexsmith, 76, died Friday, March 30, 1984, at the home of her daughter, Donna Folkman. She was born September 8, 1907, in St. John, Utah, the daughter of Philip Aljets and Annie Mcintosh. She married Wyman John Sexsmith Sex-smith on June 14, 1931. He died July 6, 1981. She attended elementary elemen-tary and high school in Tooele, Utah, and Ely, Nev. and graduated from the University of Nevada. At age 57 she earned her Masters Degree from the University of Chicago. Mabel was a master elementary school teacher in Las Vegas, Nev. for 25 years. She opened the first Media Center in the elementary schools in Las Vegas and acted as Media Coordinator for ten years. She had just been elected to the Las Vegas Women's Bowling Association in Florence A. Judd Downs, 94, of Orem died Friday, March 30, 1984 in Orem. She was born Feb. 10, 1890 in Cooksville, Tenn. to Daniel C. and Perillda Bilbry Judd. She married William A. Downs on Nov. 17, 1909 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her husband died Dec. 8, 1968. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership positions in her ward and state organizations. organiza-tions. She was honored in 1963 for more than 50 years of visiting teaching. She continued con-tinued this calling for many years after being honored. She moved to Pleasant Grove in 1901 and has lived in this area since then. As a homemaker she took great pride in her home, yard, and flowers. Her greatest love was her family, she took great delight in helping others and in sharing whatever she had with family and friends. Survivors include, two sons and two daughters; Ray J. Downs of Orem; Elvin Downs of Salt Lake City; Mrs. William (Bessie) Shelton of ' 11 American Fork; Mrs, Ray (Reva) Keetch of A 1 Magna. She was born March 30, 1984 in American Fork. Her parents are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, American Fork 19th Ward. Survivors include her parents and two brothers and two sisters; Troy, Marisa, Jenni, and Randy all of American Fork; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Matthews of Pleasant Grove, and Florintino Alconcel of Hawaii. Graveside services were held Monday, April 2, at noon in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary. |
