Show Alpine Board will discuss leeway April 10 The Alpine Board of Education will hold its monthly business meeting on Tuesday, April 10 at 6 p.m. at 39 North in American Fork. Among the action items to be considered during the session is the proposed leeway vote which has been scheduled for May 8. The board had placed a hold on further activities associated with the election pending the action of the state legislature on property tax issues. Another action item on Tuesday's agenda is a decision on a new elementary school to be built on the Geneva site in Orem. There are also several discussion items planned for April's business meeting. The Public Involvement Committee, with representatives from Ijehi and Highland, will present a report on their consideration of future school building construction in north Utah County. A proposal to implement a productivity model at American Fork Junior High School will also be discussed by the board. The proposal was the subject of a town meeting held at the school this past Friday night Other agenda items include: a report on the development of a new literature program, discussion of a policy on student excursions, the adoption of the official notice of a future bond sale, the sale of tax anticipation notes, and bids on new school buses. The Tuesday board meeting is open to the public and there will be a "public opportunity to address the board" near the beginning of the session. |
