Show Physician awareness open house held Many area residents took advantage of the open house at the American Fork Hospital last week to have a free diabetic screening, strep throat test, hearing test, blood pressure test, or to learn Cardio Pulmonary Rescuscitation (CPR). The open house was sponsored by the American Fork Hospital and the American Fork Chamber of Commerce to make residents aware of the many specialists available in the area at the present time. In addition to the free tests given, tours were given of the hospital, and several doctors were on hand to explain their specialties. There were also video showings on the "high cost of getting well," "car seat safety," and how to "pack your own chute" and cope in todays stress-filled life. Refreshments were provided by , McDonalds and Albertson's. March has been Physicians Awareness Month in the city with hospital staff members and physicians speaking at various clubs, schools, and at the Senior Citizen luncheons. Officials said there are currently 13 family practice physicians and 17 different specialists on the staff at the hospital. |
