She won several first place championships in dance while representing BYU, including two first at the California Star and a first at the Canadian Maple Leaf Championships. She also taught social dance and tap classes while at BYU. She auditioned and was selected as one of the eight regulars to dance with the Donny and Marie Show. She recently completed a dance role in a film with Paramount Pictures that will be released next month. She began training the advanced division of the Tri-City Angels this week. She -says she is impressed with the quality and potential of the young dancers. LeGene and the younger Lyman sisters will continue to train the beginning, intermediate and other performing levels of the Angels. Denna is married to James Robertson of Provo and they have one son. Denna Robertson, a talented dancer, is taking a recess from professional performances to direct the advanced students division of the Tri-City Angels Junior Drill and Dance Teams, centered in American Fork. Denna began her training in her parents' dance studio at the age of three. She began winning major titles when she was 15 and became the first place gymnastic champion in Los Angeles. While still a teenager, she won ' several first place championships in ballroom dancing with her brother. She performed extensively as a child with her brothers and sisters i in an act titled "The Lyman Family." Denna auditioned with the International In-ternational Study Guild and was selected to represented the U.S. as a !' solo dancer abroad with all ex penses paid. In this capacity she ' performed in England, Belgium, France, Holland, Greece and Italy. She attended Dixie College where DENNA ROBERTSON she performed with the Dixie Rebelletes Drill and Dance Team and assisted in teaching dance classes. She later attended BYU where |
