J I I;- : f . .- . . ........ . - i Members of the Pleasant Grove fit)' Council indicated last week ' that they were in favor of selling the old sewer plant on Sam White's Lane to Kent Thrasher on a r lease purchase agreement I Thrasher will use the property for a metal recovery business. The property contains four acres and some buildings. The city will retain 2j use of one building for a dog pound ; 'i until the city can find another site . I for the animals. X Mr, Thrasher agreed that should he have to default on the sale he would leave the property as he found it A suggestion was made that one "" of Pleasant Grove's Softball parks be named in honor of Clarence j Kikon, Jr. who died recently. Clarence made an outstanding I?: contribution to Pleasant Grove's Softball program over the years and the city would like to remember him m this way. The council decided that an audit 'fport and orientation for new council members will be held Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in the city hall. The council discussed the possibility of using a BYU intern in public administration during the summer months at the rate of $5 per hour. The council felt that the intern could be a great asset in handling special matters the council has trouble finding time to do. During the time alotted for citizens not on the agenda to speak their minds, Robin Steed said that hev car was run off the road by -it police officer in pursuit of another vehicle. She said the incident occured at 7:15 p.m. on 200 S. Mrs. Steed told the council that the police car was unmarked and had no lights or siren in use at the time. She realized it was a police officer when he stopped his car aways down the road and she saw his uniform. j The council told her that they would discuss the matter with the police chief. The council also approved allowing occupancy of a home even though a driveway has not been poured due to the weather. BART ADAMS awoke Saturday morning to find this sign wrapped around his home, "Bart, will you go to Preference with me?" His dad reported an enclosed note said, "If you accept, wear your hat to math Tuesday." Did Bart wear his hat? |
