Mayor Honored at City Employees Party The annual city employees Christmas party this year had a sense of fun and sadn-ess, as the city bid goodbye to Mayor Cornell Haynie and two of the councilmen, Frank Mills and Steve Peterson. Councilwoman Donna Brock presented to the mayor were several of the city employees. Lynn Zufelt said that when the city has a clean-u- p day, the mayor never just came for a few minutes lo make a showing, but that he really kicked in and participated in the project until it was over. He said that there was never a time that the mayor didn't support the efforts and growl h of the department. Boyd Butler Named To Management Two management appointments in Ihe Rolling Mills Division al U.S. Steel's Geneva Works were announced today by R.P. Judd, division superintendent. Boyd L. Butler of Pleasant Grove was named roll designer and Richard M. Mitchell of Orem was appointed I urn foreman in the roll shop. Mr. Butler's sleelmaking career began in February 1980 as a Geneva Works management associate assigned to Ihe Rolling Mills. In 1981, he was pro m ol ed I o t he management position of turn foreman of Ihe roll shop and he held this position al Ihe time of his current a p point merit. He holds a B.S. degree in physics and a B.S. degree in manufac-turing engineering from B r i g h a m Young University. Mr. Mitchell began his U.S. Steel career in 1968 as a laborer in Geneva's Coke and Coal Chemicals Division. Since then, he has held various positions throughout the plant. Prior to this recent management ap-pointment, he was serving as spell foreman of the roll shop in Ihe Rolling Mills Division. He majored in zoology al Snow College in Ephraim and in geology at Brigham Young University. In these positions she uses many of her secretarial and business skills. Afler graduation from high school, Teresa plans lo further her career interests in secretarial and business work. She plans to at-tend Dixie College and major in business. t A Cappella Capades Plays to Full House More than 1000 people crowded into the 800 seal Pleasant Grove High School Auditorium Monday night for the annual A Cappella Choirs "Magic Of Christmas". Choir members sold over 1200 tickets to the concert which grossed 53,000. "Every dime will go back to the people who sold the tickets lo help support them on Ihe Spring Tour," said Terry Tucker, Choir Director. The program was a great success and featured (he choir, Cloggers West and other individual acts.
