Show THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14. 1978 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE. UTAH THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1978 Pleasant Camp DUP Holds Xmas Party on Friday, December 8 Summit County. Also given was a very interesting ac-count of the first cars to arrive in Kanab. The closing prayer was given by Melvina Jones. Friday, Dec. 8 the Pleasant Grove Camp held their meeting and Christmas Party. A delicious hot dinner was served by the of-ficers. The tables were beautifully decorated and Christmas songs were sung. Prayers were offered by Catherine Gardner. Af-ter the dinner a letter was read by Nelda Rawlings from the Central Camp in Salt Lake, wishing all a Merry Christmas. Minutes were read of the previous meeting and a financial report was given by Ina Iver-son- . A short story was read by Captain Thelma Temmele. The lesson consisted of several true stories, given by Lorrie Morrill. They took place in Utah and Lindon Elementary Children Enjoying Unit on Christmas Around the World Lindon Elementary first grade students are enjoying a unit on "Christmas Around the World". Each day before Christmas the students will study about a different foreign country and how they celeberate Christmas. Oriental countries eat with chopsticks. The students decided to eat their lunch with chopsticks. Everyone was willing to try. Much time and effort was spent in picking up each bite of food. All seemed to enjoy the custom of eating with chopsticks. Success was felt in finally getting the food in the mouth. The first grade teachers are Eloise Kunz and Mindy Broderick. AROUND THE WORLD Children at Lindon eat with chopsticks for Christmas around World Brent K. Davis and Anna May Pehrson Anna Pehrson and Brent Davis to Wed in Temple Anna May Pehrson will become the bride of Brent K. Davis in a ceremony to be per-formed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 16, 1978. A reception will be held in their honor that same evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the s Stake Center 800 North 100 West. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pehrson of Blanding Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Davis of Pleasant Grove. Anna is a graduate of Blanding High School and L.D.S. Seminary. She is presently at-tending BYU and will graduate in April with a Home Economics degree. Brent is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and L.D.S. Seminary. He served an L.D.S. mission to Cebu, Philippnes. Presently he is at-tending Utah Technical College in Provo in the field of Electronic Technology. Following their marriage the couple will make their first home in Orem. Am. Legion Auxiliary to Meet Friday The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70 December meeting will be held at the home of Reva Ahman, 309 East 200 South, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Brent Bullock, ad-ministrative assistant to the Utah County Attorney, will be the guest speaker. He will speak on "Rehabilia-tion"- . All auxiliary mem-bers are invited and urged to be present. Vicki Aslett and Kevin Walker Vicki Aslett and Kevin Walker Plan Temple Rites Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Aslett are an-nouncing the marriage of their daughter Vicki to Kevin Walker, son of President and Mrs. Leon Walker of Lin-don. They plan to be married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Vicki is a graduate of Beaverhead County High School. She has received an associate degree in Family Studies and will receive her B.S. in Home Economics Education from Brigham Young Univeristy in April. She has served a mission to Colombia, South America. Kevin is a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School. He is presently studying agricultural economics at Brigham Young University He served a mission to Rosario, Argentina. An open house will be held in their honor on Tuesday, Dec. 19, from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Lindon Ward Cultural Hall. A special in-vitation is extended to all friends and relatives to attend. Eagles Christmas Activity The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Pleasant Grove Aerie 3372 will hold their Christmas activities on Saturday, Dec. 16 in the Aerie home. A Christmas party for the children with Santa will be from one until three p.m. A Christmas teen dance will follow from four until seven p.m. The adult Christ-mas Party will start at 8 o'clock p.m. with a buffet dinner and dan-ce, and those who wish to partake of a gag gift exchange should mark their gifts for man or woman. Christmas charities will be delivered to several families in the area on Dec. 23. A canned foods drive is being held now for the families. Anyone who wishes to donate should bring their items to the lodge before Dec. 23. New Years Eve tickets are now on sale at the lodge for mem-bers and their guests. The Aerie announces that the lodge now has a band every Friday and Saturday night for dancing. All parents of students and other in-terested persons are in-vited to the recital. There is no charge. A special number will be presented by the Lineu dePaula family of Lehi.
