Jayvees Beat Payson before, 2-0, in the first quarter. by Jeff Jackson J.V. center, Kevin Ash, hit a 10 foot baseline jump shot with one second left to give P.G. a dramatic come from behind win at Payson last Friday. An effective defense, led by guard Wayne Whitely, who had numerous steals during the game, was a key factor in the win. The Vikes failed to generate any real effective effec-tive offense but out hustled the Payson team to keep the score tight. With 25 seconds to play, P.G. tied the score at 46 all and with 10 seconds remaining, forces for-ces Payson to turn the ball over. After a time out, Kim Walker passed to Todd Kitchen who fed the ball to Ash for the final shot. It dropped through to give P.G. its second lead of the game 48-46. P.G. had led only once |
