Show Strasburg Wins Drags over Mike Nagle's Dune Buggy. The Drag racers were out in full force Saturday Satur-day at the Roundabout strirj. The number more than doubling the first week. Lindsay Strasburg is still undefeated in the Pleasure Class, which includes Blazers, Broncos, Bron-cos, RamCharger, etc. His fast moving Bronco really does go. Wallace Brereton in his Renegade and Mike Nagle in his Jeep raced each other for sport. Being the only ones to show up in their classes, they won a trophy each, the easy way. When it got "down to the wire" it was Truman Lyon's Chev against Bob An-dreason's An-dreason's Ford. Truman came out the winner in the 34 ton class. There were six 12 tons in the Stock class and one was driven by a girl (person). Charlotte Fillmore made it clear up to the finals when Don Newman in his '74 Chev beat her out. It was Dodge against Dodge in the 12 Ton Modified Class. Cindy Peterson and Kent Gurney were really trying hard. When Kent put the pedal down there was no catching cat-ching him. He won 2 out of three heats for the win. When the Powder Puff got down to the finals, it was Charlotte Fillmore's Ford against Sheryl Strasburg's (Lindsay's) Bronco, the race was something to watch as the gals were really trying. It proved Charlotte's lucky day as she took the win and trophy. Ted Atenco's truck with the previous owner behind the wheel (Rob Andreason) proved unbeatable in the Top Eliminator Class as it took the win |
