Show ; ' ; vt .v v.-. z Ik THEY HELPED S. W. and Lydia Hilton have helped in school and community activity in Pleasant Grove. You'd Like to Know Them by Jayne Fryer Sam and Lydia Allen Hilton have always been one of the back-bones of Pleasant Grove Community. Both have been students of Pleasant Grove High School. Sam and all of his children graduated from PGHS. Two sons, Abel J. Ekins and Eugene Allen served as studentbody presidents at the high school. Samuel W. II served as senior class president and Frances was studentbody officer. The Hiltons have seven children - Samuel W. II who was killed in Okinawa, Abel J. Ekins owner of Lehi Drug in Lehi; Frances Hanes, Roanoke, Virginia; Don lives in Las Vegas, Nevada; Eugene Allen, South Salt Lake; Robert, Pleasant Grove; Floyd, American Fork. Sam and Lydia have a very close family. Mr. Hilton and all of his sons are Eagle Scouts. Mr Ilihon worked for Utah Power and Light for 43'2 years. When Sam retired he was superintendent of the Weber Plant. Sam and Lydia have been very active in the LDS church. chur-ch. Both have filled stake missions. Lydia filled a mission in California. She has been president of Relief Society. MIA, and Primary. Mrs. Hilton is a great geneologist, keeping a daily diary for the past 20 years. Mr. Hilton has been a commandeer of the American Leagion two different times, president of the Lions Club, was in the stake (Tim-panogas) (Tim-panogas) presidency, studied at Utah Stale and served his country in World War 1. The Hiltons have 28 grand children and 33 great grandchildren, gran-dchildren, two more on the way, that's all that have been reported" reflected Mrs. Hilton. Pleasant Grove High School salute the Hiltons and want them to know how much they are appreciated. |
