The regular monthly meeting of the D.U.P. Battle Creek Camp was held Nov. 12th, at 2 p.m. at the home of Ruby H. West on Battle Creek Drive. Captain Beth Wright presided and conducted. Alta Hone offered the invocation. Reports of previously assigned responsibilities were given by committee heads, and business items were discussed. The Song, "In the Sweet By and By" was led by Cleone Langley, with Maymetta Johnson accompaning. Minutes and roll call were given by Sec. Cora O. Bez-zan- t, lesson leader Viola Cowley presented an in-teresting lesson on Pioneer Cemeteries, which was very informative and worthwhile. She told of different burial grounds where the pioneers were compelled to bury their dead during their trying times. She also told of Pres. Brigham Youngs private cemetery, located not too far from the Eagle Gate in S.L.C. where he was buried in 1877. Mrs. Eva W. Proctor an outstanding researcher and genealogist was present. She told of her experiences and methods used in compiling records from news paper clippings, and information from other sources, con-cerning people buried in our Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Her aim and desire is to make a permanent "Cemetery Record" for the city of PI. Grove to be preserved and used as needed. Her discussion was heart warming and important. Legion, Auxiliary Holds Armistice Day Banquet LynetLe Macfarlan. They each gave a report of their ex-periences while attending State. Also on the program were Joy Lloyd and Cindy Christensen who sang two solos. Sandra Harmer also played a piano solo. Mr. Evans and Mr. Jones gave the opening and closing prayers. A good time was enjoyed by all. The American Legion Post 70 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70 annual Armistice Day banquet was held at the West Winds cafe in Pleasant Grove. A delicious turkey dinner was served to members and guests present. Lowell Duvall representing the Legion gave a financial report and introduced the Boy Staters. Bret Jenkins and Ray Fugal gave an account of their experiences at Boys State. LaVon Anderson, president of the Auxiliary, announced Auxilliary officers, and introduced the Girl Staters. " " r , " f- - ' WAYNE ALLRED AND MISS ROBYN DREW Robyn Drew, and Wayne Allred Will Wed on Friday Robyn Drew will become the bride of E. Wayne Allred in a ceremony performed November 19th in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Parents of the prospective newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Drew, Alpine, and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Allred, mission for the LDS church in Finland. Mr. Allred is presently a student at Brigham Young University majoring in Economics. After their marriage the couple will make their home in Orem while he continues his education. Pleasant Grove. A reception will be given in their honor that same eveing in the Alpine Stake Center. All friends and relatives are cordially invited. Miss Drew has selected Karrie Hammond as her matron of honor with Lisa Allred, Gaya Chesnut, Teri Matheson, Lesa Drew and Camile Drew as bridesmaids. Ricki Lin Farrer and Vikki Allred will be the flowergirls. Brent Nielson will perform the duties of best man. Showers were given by Michelle Allridge and Laura Robinson, JoLyn Farrer and Carolyn Allred, Gaya Chesnut and Rea Carlton. The bride to be is a graduate of American Fork High School where she was active in school activities and was a member of the color. She is a four-yea- r seminary graduate and also served as a member of the Sears Fashion Board. She later graduated from Utah Technical College in office education and is currently employed in the Dean of Students office at the Tech. The prospective groom is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School where he was active in athletics. He was All State in both basketball and football, and served as President of the Letter-man'- Club. He attended Weber State University on a football scholarship before filling Budget Fair Set Nov. 19 by Twelfth Ward The 12th Ward Budget Fair is set for Nov. 19, Friday, at 5:15 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center. Time schedule for the fair as announced is 5:15, come and browse, 5:30, sale of han-dmade and bake items,; 6:00 p.m. supper to be served, and 6:45 p.m. an auction of items will be started.' Items of interest at the sale and auction include han-diwork, baby clothes, sewn items, quilts, toys, dolls, macrame, etc. and items to be auctioned include furniture and household items as well as services of ward members. There will also be a cake walk and white elephant sale for the children. - f X - MISS SU ANN TAYLOR AND RICHARD G. BEAGLEY SuAnn Taylor Will Wed Richard Beagley Nov. 19 SuAnn Taylor will become the bride of Richard G. Beagley in a ceremony per-formed on Nov. 19th in the Salt Lake Temple. Parents of the prospective bride are Mr. and Mrs. Kent G. Taylor, Lindon; and Mr. and Mrs. Grant R. Beagley, Spanish Fork are parents of the future bridegroom SuAnn is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She was active in pep club, gym-nastics, and school legislation SuAnn is a licensed beautician and attended Dixie Jr. College in St. George, Utah Technical College and Brigham Young University. She is presently employed in Orem. Richard graduated from Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary. He was active in sports, a members of the a capella choir, and a delegate to Boys State. He served in the Texas-Sout- h Mission and .is presently attending Brigham Young University. Variety Club Meets with Mary Swenson Variety club members were welcomed as guests at the home of Joe and Mary Swen-son Thursday evening. Mrs. Swenson ably assisted by her daughter Colleen Richens served a delicious luncheon at small tables set up in the beautiful family room. Place settings and favors centered around the Thanksgiving theme. The remainder of the evening was spent visiting as well as discussing plans for the annual Christmas party to be held in mid December. Dorthy Walker is in charge of arrangements. Those in attendance were; Juanita Larsen, Beth War-burto- Esther Williams, Margret Kelley, Evlin Walker, Eva Reynolds, Thelma Swenson, Louise Johnson, Ida Halliday, Merle Armitstead, Dorthy Walker, Evelyn Schoonover. Lady Eagles to Hold Dinner Dance Saturday Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Pleasant Grove Aerie No. 3372 will be honored with a Dinner Dance celebrating the Auxiliaries 8th Anniversary, Saturday, November 20th. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. by Aerie members. Dancing will follow at 9 o'clock p.m. to the music of "Reference II". Madam President Darlene Loock, reports personal in-vitations were sent to all Utah State Auxiliary Officers and to Auxiliary Past Presidents; Shirley Cook, Jean Bourne, Lenora Garner, Judy Bourne, Ruline King, Frenda Lund, Helen Hall and Bonnie An-derson. Scadlock, of Key West, Florida, announce the engagement and forth coming marriage of their daughter, Imogene Louise to Alan Kay Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones of Pleasant Grove. The bride-elec- t is a graduate of Key West High School and Miami-Dad- e Community College, North. The bridegroom-elec- t is a graduate of Brigham Young University. The couple will be married in the Salt Lake Temple, Friday November 19, 1976. All friends and relatives are invited to a reception given in their honor, Friday, Nov. 19, 1976, 7:30 p.m. at Grove Ward Cultural Hall, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Grove Camp DUP Holds Meeting Friday The Pleasant Grove Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their monthly meeting Friday Nov. 12th with 2nd vice captain Nelda Rawlings conducting and Captain Lucille Taylor presiding. The- minutes of their last meeting were read by Ina Iverson. The roll call showed 23 members present. Hor-tens- e Fronk played the prelude music and ac-companied the singing. The opening prayer was by Louise Barrett. The lesson was very in-terestingly given by the teacher Lourie Morrill on Early Day Cemetery's and burial spots. Midred Walker gave a history ot the early day in-dustries in PI. Grove. She showed very good pictures of brick making as well as many of the men who worked there. Our Christmas Party was discussed and will be held on I Dec. 10 at our regular meeting. .The program wil be in charge of Hortense Fronk who is one of our older members of the Camp and is always very dependable. We hope to see all of the members present that day to enjoy our Christmas party. Ice Cream and Lollipop Shop Is Open at P.G. High Now open is the Ice Cream and Lollipop Shoppe each night from 3 to 4. It will also be open Thursday evening from 7 to 8. It is room 12, the foods room at Pleasant Grove High School. For you convience cakes can be ordered. Birthday cakes or special cakes.
