"The Family and other living things" is an entertaining enter-taining and provocative one-hour one-hour television special about today's family. It will be aired in cities across the nation during and after Thanksgiving week, beginning begin-ning Sunday, November 21. Some of television's brightest talents join in drama, humor, pathos, and music to show the family as it too often is, but more importantly, im-portantly, how it could be. produced for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by Jer-Jer Productions, Produc-tions, "The Family, and other living things" stars; --Bill Bixby, of "The Courtship of Eddie's Father," and "The Magician" series. He is host of the PBS series, "Once Upon a Classic," and was co-host with Julie Andrews An-drews of the PBS special, "The Puzzle Children." --Gary Burghoff, probably better known as "Radar" on the "M.A.S.H." series. Ruth Buzzi, comic star of the "Laugh-In" series, and guest performer on other shows, including Donny and Marie Osmond's weekly show. --Bill Daily, who portrays Howard Borden, airline navigator and neighbor on "The Bob Newhart Show," comedy series. --Elinor Donahue, co star with Robert Young in the longtime favorite series, "Father Knows Best," frequent performer in the "Odd Couple," and guest on the SWAT series. --The Lennon Sisters, Kathy, Diane, Peggy and Janet, who gained their fame as vocalists with Lawrence Welk. The Osmond Brothers, Alan, Wayne LMerrill, Jay and Donny, one of the world's most popular performing and recording groups, part of a remarkable family themselves. them-selves. --Donny and Marie Osmond, stars of their own weekly series on ABC-TV. 'THE FAMILY" Bill Bixby, Elinor Donahu, and Brad Savage portray family broken by divorce in one-hour television tele-vision special to be aired over KSL Channel 5 at 8 p.m. next Tuesday evening, Nov. 23. Everyone should watch it. Jimmy Osmond, the youngest of the Osmonds, a developing star in his own right. Also starring in "The Family..." are Yvonne Wilder, Brad Savage, Melissa Sue Anderson and Ronny Graham. Executive producer is Jerry McPhie, executive vice president in charge of. all television production for Sid and Marty Kroft Enterprises. Among his many assignments, assign-ments, he is executive producer of the popular "Donny and Marie" show. He has been involved with more than 200 television shows, including Hollywood Palace, Lily Tomlin, the Tony Orlando and Dawn show, Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour and others. Producer-director is Robert Scheerer, winner of the Emmy Award as Best Director for his work with the Danny Kaye Show for which he was producer-director for four years. He also has produced and directed the Andy Williams series, Barbra Streisand's "A Happening in Central Park," and Peggy Fleming's first television special with Richard Harris; He has also directed specials featuring Shirley MacLaine, Fred Astaire and Perry Como. Two time Emmy Award winning writer producer Roid Warren supervised preparation of the script. He received Emmy awards for his work on the Lily Tomlin Show in 1976 and 1974. He now is writing for the Donny and Marie Show and also has written for Mac Davis, Tony Orlando and Dawn, the Smothers Brothers and Jim Stafford. |
