Show PEOPLES PARTY Ford West, John Huntsman and Dee Newman will run on Peoples ticket. Peoples Party Nominates City Council Candidates The Peoples Party, nominat-John nominat-John D. Huntsman, Dee and Ford D. West as their candidates candi-dates for city councilman in the Nov. 2 elections. AH are newcomers to politics. John D. Huntsman was born in Tropic, Garfield County, and lived for 15 years in southern Nevada. He has lived in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove for the past 26 years. He worked as a plasterer plast-erer for seven years, then went to work for Pleasant Grove City, where he was a police officer for 16 years, retiring in 1968. A member of the LDS Church he is now first assistant to the Third Ward High Priest group leader. He has held offices in two Elders Quorum presidencies. presiden-cies. He has served as Genealogy Geneal-ogy Supervisor and on two ward committees for older folks. Mr. Huntsman says he is always happy when he can help others. Dee Newman Mr. Newman was born and raised in Pleasant Grove and attended schools here, graduating gradu-ating in 1953. He served in the Army in Germany from 1954 to 1956. He is an active member mem-ber of the LDS Church and has served as Elders Quorum President Pres-ident and also in the Sunday School Superintendency. He has worked with the Boy Scouts for several years, and is now serving in the superintendency of the MIA in the First Ward. He is married to the former Sandra Anderson of American Fork, and they are the parents of three children. He is a member mem-ber of the Pleasant Grove Fire Department. He has worked for Geneva Steel for the past 15 years. Ford D. West Mr. West was born in Deeth, Nevada, but has lived in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove since he wa two years old. He has been ber of the Pleasant Grov Department for 24 years, : ing as fire chief for 16 year: He works at U.S. Steel, ani has been employed there for 2fc years. Active in the LDS Church, he has served in many positions. He is in the Sunday School Superintendency where he has served as both first and second sec-ond counselor. He has spent 16 years working work-ing with Boy Scouts in the community. com-munity. He has been active in Jaycees and other civic organizations. organ-izations.
