Show Deer Season Open Saturday, Learn About the Laws Deer season opens Saturday, Oct. 23 throughout the entire state of Utah, according to Art Henderson, local conservation officer. Some of the herd units un-its will vary in length of season sea-son however. The Heaston herd unit will be open for 5 days only for bucks only, according to Mr. Henderson. He stated that hunters hun-ters should obtain a 1971 deer proclamation and make sure of the length of season and the sex of animal that it is legal to take. Quite a few hunters get into trouble each year by not knowing the laws. Deer should be properly tagged tag-ged at place of kill with tag punched the month, date and sex of animal taken.
