'Night of Magic' Set for Friday, Saturday in Provo Auditorium A night of magic, featuring the wizardry of "Professor" Andy Anderson, and other acts will be performed Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14 at the Provo High School auditorium. auditor-ium. Two feats of mental gymnastics gymnas-tics will precede the performance, perform-ance, one in connection with a newspaper in Utah County, and another on the streets of Provo. The amazing wizard will predict pre-dict the top headlines which will appear on the front page of the Nov. 13 issue of the paper. The trick is, that he will make the predictions many days in advance in front of the publisher publish-er and Utah County Sheriff Ralph Chappie. The predictions will then be sealed in an envelope envel-ope and locked away by Sheriff Sher-iff Chappie, not to be opened until the night of the first performance. per-formance. Professor Anderson will also step into a brand new Caddillac sedan, furnished by a Provo auto dealer and in the company of city and county officials, he will drive from the corner of Center and University in Provo, Pro-vo, up University Avenue to 700 North, make a "U" turn, and return to Center and University What's so great about this? You say any 16 year old driver's driv-er's ed. student could do the same thing? Oh yeah? Professor Anderson will do his driving blindfolded. He invites everyone to watch but asks that no one except bonafide police officers follow him. The rest of us can watch from the sidewalk at both ends of the trek. For that trick, Prof. Anderson Ander-son has a standing offer from the Magicians Association of America for his secret to the stunt. Other stunts, and tricks and performances will come alive on stage from his crew of 30 performers. Mr. Anderson is a resident of Payson, and served as president presi-dent to the Pacific Coast Association Asso-ciation of Magicians during the 1969-1970 year. His performance on stage includes in-cludes a vast array of illusions including the Mystery Doves, the Vanishing Bird Cage, a Symphony in Color, and the Living Doll House. Added as special attractions will be ventriloquism, singing and dancing, and tumbling acts. Doors open at 8 p.m. each night. Admission will be $2.00 for adults, $1.50 for students, and $1.00 for children. Advanced Advanc-ed ticket sales are being handled hand-led at 274 North 100 West in Provo. |
