Show Trail Ride Last Saturday Proves Very Enjoyable The Timpanogos Stake Mel-chizedek Mel-chizedek Priesthood Trail Ride, held last Saturday, was thoroughly thor-oughly enjoyed and well attended, at-tended, according to Vernon Ahman, committee secretary. Approximately 86 riders made the trip. Guest speaker Professor Ivan Iv-an Berrett of BYU thrilled and entertained all his listeners-with listeners-with his interesting and frequently fre-quently humorous accounts of early Utah history and the battles of the pioneers to subdue sub-due the wilderness. The religious meeting, held1 at trailside under the shade, followed dinner and was em-ceed em-ceed by Reed Orton, committee commit-tee chairman. High councilman Reed Peterson presided and introduced in-troduced Presidents Boyd L. Fugal and Leon Walker of the Timpanogos Stake, who also spoke briefly. Some of the riders returned, via Grovecreek, some down through Battle Creek and some back the way they came. Mr. Ahman said that next July the ride will be made to the High Uintahs for a stay-over stay-over Friday night and a meeting meet-ing Saturday morning. |
