Show Little League to Hold Award Day Next Thursday, July 30 The second place Pirates beat the Cards 10 to 1 Monday to give them their second loss of the season. However, the Cards are still on top of the league, with a 15 and 2 record. The Pirates have a 14 and 3 record to put them in a solid second place. Big news for Little League teams is the Awards Day set for next Thursday, July 30. The players who are graduating from the league have been divided di-vided into four teams. Team No. 1 and 4 will play each other oth-er at 5 p.m. and No.'s 2 and 3 will play at 7 p.m. (See team rosters below). All Little League players who free refreshments, according to Jack Taylor, in charge of Little League baseball. In games played July 15 the Giants beat the Utes 7 to 5 and the Cubs beat the Red Sox 6 to 3. A home run by Kelly Duke helped the Cubs in this game. The Cards beat the Phillies 18 to 3 with a home run by Ron Beck of the Cards, and the Dodgers topped the Indians 5 to 2. The Pirates won over the Tigers 14 to 0 with Kelly Christiansen Chris-tiansen hitting a home run for the Pirates. In Monday games, the Giants won over the Phillies 10 to 4 and the Pirates won over the Cards 10 to 1 with Ron Beck of the Cards getting the only run for them on a home run. The Dodgers won over the Utes 7 to 6 in an 11 inning game and the Indians beat the Cubs 9 to 6. Paul Christiansen of the Indians hit a home run.
