An open house will be held in their honor, Friday, July 31, from 8 until 10 p.m.. at the home of the groom's parents, 380 South 300 East, in Ameri-can Fork. J MISS NADINE JUNE JACOBSEN Nadine June Jacobsen and Kent Allen Johnson Will Wed on Friday, July 31 College and graduated from the LDS Institute there. Mr. Johnson attended Pleas-ant Grove High School and ser-ved four years in the U.S. Navy Air Force. He is presently em-ployed in Bancroft, Idaho. Attending the bride will be Janice Washburn as maid of honor, with Carol Warwood, Barbara Aldredge, Cheryl Shel-ley, Terri and Lynda Jacobsen as bridesmaids and Michael Ann and Vicki Jacobsen as flower girls. The couple will make their home in Bancroft. Nadine June Jacobsen, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mar Jay Jacobsen will marry Kent Allen Johnson of Pleasant Grove on July 31, at the Cu-ltural of the Orem 31st Ward Chapel, 545 South 800 East, in Orem. Mrs. Marie N. Johnson and the late George A. Johnson are the parents of the groom. Bishop DeLynn Heaps will officiate at the ceremony, which will be followed by a re-ception from 8 to 10 p.m., and all relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Johnson, also of Pleasant Grove. The couple are making plans for a July 30 wedding in the Logan LDS Temple. A recep-tion will be held the same ev-ening at the new Stake Center, 850 North, 100 West in Pleas-ant Grove. The bride is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, and LDS Seminary. She has graduated from the Utah Tech-nical College at Provo, where she received schooling as a practical nurse. She has work-ed at the Utah Valley Hospital, for the past year. The groom is also a gradu-ate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He has served a 2Y2 year LDS mis-sion to Norway and graduated from the BYU this May with a B.S. degree in accounting. He is presently employed by PL Grove City as recorder. Approximately 86 riders made the trip. Guest speaker Professor Iv-an Berrett of BYU thrilled and entertained all his listeners-wit-his interesting and fre-quently humorous accounts of early Utah history and the battles of the pioneers to sub-due the wilderness. The religious meeting, held1 at trailside under the shade, followed dinner and was em-ce- ed by Reed Orton, commit-tee chairman. High councilman Reed Peterson presided and in-troduced Presidents Boyd L. Fugal and Leon Walker of the Timpanogos Stake, who also spoke briefly. Some of the riders returned, via Grovecreek, some down through Battle Creek and some back the way they came. Mr. Ahman said that next July the ride will be made to the High Uintahs for a stay-ove-r Friday night and a meet-ing Saturday morning. Girls Staters Are Speakers at Legion Auxiliary Members of American Leg-ion Auxiliary Unit 70 listened on Wednesday afternoon, July 15 to the reports of Pleasant Grove's three 1970 Girls State delegates. Making the reports were Bar-bara Monson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Monson; Nola Pack, daughter of Mr. ans Mrs. Eldon Pack and Barbara Thomson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. T. M. Tompson. Mothers of the girls were special guests during the afternoon. The affair was held at the home of Eva Adams, Unit 70 Girls State Chairman, who also served refreshments. Remarks were made by Don-na Walker, newly elected presi-dent of Unit 70. A total of nine-teen attended the meeting. 300 Senior Citizens Enjoy Annual Summer Banquet Three hundred guests and entertainers enjoyed the fresh, new coolness of the new Stake Center last Saturday. The ev-ent was the annual summer dinner party for the Senior Cit-izens of the Timpanogos Stake area, plus the resident widows and wodowers. After an hour of socializing, in the chapel area, a full course fried chicken dinner was serv-ed. President Elwood Allen rep-resented the Timpanogos Stake presidency and Mayor Stanley Walker of Lindon offered the invocation and asked grace on the food. Following the dinner, the group adjourned from the cul-tural hall to the chapel, where Committee Chairman Eldon Johnson emceed the following program. Accordian solo, Richard Bul-lock; vocal solo, Mrs. Allen Longman; organ solo, John Bezzant; ukulele and guitar sel-ections, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jeppson. Two Hawaiian dances "Not Paul and "More Poi Ball Dance," Karen Searle; accor-dian solo, Terry Jenkins and a Barbershop Quartet, compos-ed of Dick Thomas, Clyde Py-pe- r, Jack Johnson and Don Ha-fe- n. During the Saturday evening hours, members of the Senior Citizens Committee enjoyed a social and refrehments in the garden of Mr. and Mrs. B. Cobbley. Chairman Eldon Johnson ex-pressed thanks to all who as-sisted in any way with the 1970 summer senior citizens party. Watsons Return From Convention Trip to Mexico City Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Wat-son have just returned from. Mexico City, where they atten-ded the Beneficial Life Insur-ance Company annual sales convention, for which they had; qualified earlier this year. Highlighting the week-lon- g session was a speech by Joseph Fielding Smith, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, who is chair-man of the Board of Directors for Beneficial Life. The annual sales convention is held in order to introduce new industry and company de-velopments to the agency lead-ers and consultants. In order to qualify for the for the meetings, it was necessary for the conventionaires to suc-cessfully meet a high stand-ard of production and service-fo-the preceding 12 months. Roughouts Hold Annual Camping Trip at Gooseberry The Roughout Riding Club had their annual camping trip for this summer. They went to Fairview Canyon by Goose-berry Reservoir. Thirteen couples went on the outing this year, starting on Thursday, July 9 and staying for the next weekend. Horseback riding was enjoy-ed by all every morning and fishing at night. Good food was also enjoyed, including sour-dough scones made by Donna Norman, club program chair-man. Thanks go to all club mem-bers and club officers for plan-ning an enjoyable vacation ev-ery year. Gold Keys Hold Annual Steak Fry At Rutledge Home The Gold Keys Club held their annual steak fry at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Rutledge. A delicious meal was served to the following mem-bers and their husbands: Mr. and Mrs. Sune Johan-sson, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wad-le- Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Carter, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Adam-so- n and Mrs. Paul Whiteley.
