E So Bountiful who will be 86 years old on Friday Nov 13 MRS l BURNINGHAM was born in 1884 in Bountiful to Henry and Hannah Day Gar- Gar rett She is one of 22 children children children chil chil- dren and has spent all her life in Bountiful except for forone forone forone one year when the family moved to Ogden She has lived in the Bountiful Bountiful Bountiful Boun Boun- First Ward where she is still an active member all her life SHE HAS lived at the present address for 60 years To say that Mrs Burningham Burning- Burning ham is an institution in the city ward and neighborhood neighborhood neighbor neighbor- ho hood d in which she lives would be putting it modestly HER F FAMILY UL Al Y consider her herthe herthe herthe the Hub of the Wheel Friends and neighbors visit often to review memories and family histories Ward members members mem mem- bers hers enjoy her lovely singing singing sing sing- ing voice her friendship and her testimony ony which she so willingly shares with every every- one AT THE TIlE age of five she entered Primary and can remember all the songs she sang at that age As she became a member of the ward choir she learned three verses of every hymn J 11 and can still remember the I words not needing a book to sing any song except thole those I i recently published She w will wa l still singing with the Bountiful Bountiful Bountiful Boun Boun- First Ward Choir Chou when she was 80 years old WHEN MRS Burningham was 19 she married Thomas D. D Burningham in the Salt Lake Temple She lived neighbors neighbors neigh neigh- bors to the all her life but until she was 18 had not thought of marrying marrying mar mar- her childhood playmate The were parents parents parents par par- of 11 children Six of whom are still living Two sons and a daughter live in Bountiful Edward and Henry Henry Henry Hen Hen- ry Burningham and Mrs Faye Trump Mrs Beverly Moss resides in Idaho Falls Mrs Rose Bishop and Mrs Dora live in Salt Lake City MRS BURNINGHAM is the grandmother of 28 great- great grandmother of 53 and ana great- great great-grandmother great of two Mr Burningham passed away 26 years ago MRS BURNINGHAM recalls her childhood with many fond memories attached She recalls recalls recalls re re- re- re calls when Bountiful streets were here covered with sagebrush when no water was available She especially remembers the dances and row how all the young people looked forward to Friday or S Saturday evening when the dances were held She also remembers when Bountiful West and South Bountiful all met in the same church as one ward On Sunday afternoon of the past week Mrs Airs Burningham and her family attended an open house in Salt Lake City celebrating the birthday of a brother Joseph Garrett OF THE 21 brothers and ands s sisters six still living They are Joseph and Jedd Garrett of Salt Lake City Ed Garrett Martha Wiseman Lizzie Atkinson Atkin Atkin- son and Mrs Burningham all of Bountiful Mrs Burningham is s especially es- es especially especially es es- proud of the fact she has three grandsons on missions at the present time One is serving in Guatemala one in Samoa and another in Wichita Kans She enjoys baking bread and sent a loaf to her missionary in Kansas just last week THE grandchildren and great-grandchildren great seem to spend d as much time with Mrs Burningham as her own own chil chil- dren As this reporter was about to leave after talking to Mrs Burningham one of her great grandsons arrived for a visit The usual salutation salutation salutation salu salu- tation is hello grandmother but this young man greeted his great-grandmother great with Hi Great which seems to tobe tobe tobe be the opinion of all who know Mrs Rose G.
