Show The Black Pearl will start swinging again Nov. 17 ,r Mk' ..? , Hp-. ': by Randy Hanskat For those Parkites who have a fever for the dance, and have been at a loss for evening entertainment the last two-and-a-half months, rejoice after being closed since September, the Black Pearl is reopening Nov. 17. And when the lights go on and the gyrating begins, there will be some changes in the Pearl, says owner Jody Bernolfo. First there will be management changes. Joe Soul will be the new manager. In the past he has been the manager of Mileti's in Park City and the Sting in Salt Lake. There will also be some new bartenders and waitresses. And even the familiar service people will look different, says Bernolfo. They will all have uniforms, brand-spanking new uniforms uni-forms at that. There will be more of an accent on per-; sonal service, which Bernolfo Ber-nolfo says the Pearl has lacked in the past. And there will be a limited drink menu. Instead of having 30 or 40 different mini bottles, Bernolfo says there will now be only 12. And the same goes for beer. The 20-odd beer labels carried in the past will be no longer. Only Coors and Coors Light will be offered, on draft. And the hours will be different. dif-ferent. The Black Pearl doors will no longer open at 11 a.m. Instead they will wait until 7 p.m. to swing to and fro. And the bands will be of higher quality, says Bernolfo. Ber-nolfo. Only top-notch musicians will harmonize within. A cover charge will most likely be required, says Bernolfo. And there has been some remodeling, most of it downstairs, down-stairs, unseen by the public, in the storage areas. So why all the changes? The Black Pearl Bernolfo wants the Pearl to take on a new image. He wants it to have a "sophisticated, classy, dance atmosphere." He wants the Pearl to have only the best, most dancable music, mu-sic, with the most personal service around. So, those with the dancing itch, your wait is almost over. |
