Show No county grand jury A grand jury will not convene in Summit County this year, according to Third District Court Judge Timothy R. Hanson. According to Utah statute, the court must provide an opportunity every two years for residents to make known possible illegal activities. activi-ties. In 1981 a Summit County grand jury was convened to investigate possible misconduct in Park City. : After eight months of investigation, investiga-tion, the ll-member jury returned no indictments. The investigation cost some $80,000, according to Summit County Clerk Reed Pace. Approximately $50,000 of that expense came from state coffers, the balance borne by county taxpayers. This year the court received no complaints at the time set aside for that purpose, Hanson said. However, How-ever, the court may, if it chooses, convene a grand jury more often than every two years, he said. |
