Show IPqpMce IHlepqDirit Rollerskaters advised to cease and desist Along with more serious duties, officers of the Park City Police Department spent at least part of last week breaking up loud parties and chasing rollerskaters off the city's tennis courts. On Oct. 1 1 officers located Richard Meehan for w horn they were holding an arrest warrant. Meehan was picked up and then released on $575 bail. On the same day a vehicle operated by Bruce O. Townes of Park City hit the overhang at the Holiday Inn causing $1,500 in damage. On Oct. 12 Ken Niederhauser reported the theft of a 10-foot aluminum scaffold plank from a job site at Deer Valley. The plank was found near the Silver I.ake Lodge. On Oct. 12 Officers Ford and Bryant were notified about a loud party going on near the Iron Horse Condominiums. The officers broke up the revelry and called for the father of the juvenile host. On Oct. 13 a hit-and-run driver ran over the curb near the Holiday Inn and hit two cars before fleeing the scene. Oct. 14 officers were called to the city tennis courts to rescue them from a band of rollerskaters. Also on that day police were told that Kay Ritchie's car had been hit while it was parked at the Park City Ski Area lot. Her vehicle sustained $800 in damages. On Oct. 16 suspicious vehicles were observed on the hillside above the Queen Esther Condominiums at Deer Valley. Officers concluded the vehicles may have been driven by deer poachers. The day after the new belt route officially opened, the intersection at the Snow Country Fork was christened with its first accident. Vehicles driven by Laura Campbell and Patrick Brennan. both of Park City, collided and Campbell sustained sus-tained minor injuries. Fifth Circuit Court Judge C. Bailey Sainsbury presided pre-sided over the Fifth District Court in Park City last week. Wolfgang Maasberg, 2214 Corn-stock Corn-stock Dr., Park City, was found guilty of DUI on Oct. 12 and fined $406. Bryce Miller, Star Hotel, Main Street, Park City, was found guilty of public intoxication and fined $156. Larry LeRoy Bates, P.O. Box 2296, Park City, was found guilty of DUI. He was fined $299 and $100 for the victim restitution fund. He was also sentenced to two days of community service. Lawrence Donald Pearson, 27 Willow Creek Drive, Park West was found guilty of reckless driving and fined $175. Todd Phillips, 1679 Lakeside, Park City, was found guilty of DUI and fined $555, $100 of which will go to the victim restitution fund and $150 to the Park City Prevention Center. He will also serve two days of community service. Also on Oct. 12 Janet Zang, 29B Park West Condos, was found guilty of alcohol related reckless driving. She was fined $299 and sentenced to two days of community service. Dana Hansen, 1119 N. St., Salt Lake City, was found guilty of DUI and driving on a suspended license. She was fined $299 and $100 for the victim restitution fund. |
