Show Parkites, celebrities to stir up funds for Special Olympics An Oktoberfest celebration to benefit the 1985 International Special Olympic Games will kick off Saturday with a "Run for the Games," a 5K (3.1 miles) race beginning and ending at the Yarrow Holiday Inn. The Oktoberfest celebration, complete com-plete with games and a celebrity bratwurst cook-off, will follow with entertainment to be provided by the Salt Lake Good Times Band from 1 1 :30 a. m. to 3 :30 p. m. A dance floor will be provided for those who wish to dance, along with plenty of food and free balloons and physical fitness games for youngsters. Bratwurst lunches will cost $2.50 with beverage tickets for sale at $1. Beer and soft drinks will be available. (Advance tickets for lunch and beverage are available for $3 at the Yarrow Holiday Inn and IWSOG office. ) Baked goods will be on sale for dessert in addition to official IWSOG buttons and T-shirts. Everyone is invited to come meet your candidates and join the fun as Utah pulls together for the 1985 International Winter Special Olympics Olym-pics Games. Schedule 10:30 a.m. Registration for 5k "Run for the Games" at Yarrow 11 a.m. Race starts in front of Yarrow Noon Awards ceremony with emcee Danny Kramer (KSL Radio) 12:15 p.m. Cook-off begins with celebrity teams changing off every five minutes. Cook-off teams will include Danny Kramer vs Henry Marsh, Owens Carpenter vs BangerterOveson, Bruce Baird vs Glen Brown, Salt Lake County vs Summit County Commissions, Salt Lake City vs Park City Councils, Golden Eagles vs Utah Jazz, Park City Mayor vs Coalville Mayor, Park City Police Chief vs Kansas Police Chief, Ballet West vs Repertory Dance Theatre, Salt Lake vs Park City Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Special Olympic Intermountain Actors vs Park City Performances and Yarrow vs Stein Eriksen Lodge. Special guests will include special Olympics athletes. Cook-off representatives will include in-clude Fred Ball, director of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce; Debby Symonds, director of Park City Chamberbureau; Bill Coleman, Park City councilman; Lloyd Evans, Park City Police Department; Ron Burnett, Intermountain Actors Ensemble; En-semble; Ann MacQuoid, Park City Performances; and Mayor Jack Green of Park City.
